Uplyme on course for promotion after another 20-point victory

UPLYME & Lyme Regis picked up another 20 points in a comprehensive win at Ottery St Mary  in the Devon Cricket League division E East on Sunday.

Having lost the toss and being asked to field,  Uplyme produced arguably there best bowling display of the season in dismissing Ottery for 110 .

Uplyme never looked back after Tyler Wellman dismissed the dangerous Dan Fowler, bowling him with a corker of a delivery in the first over. Tyler went on to take 4 wickets for 24 runs, his best performance of the season,  well backed up by Steve Batey ( 3 for 18 ) and Neil Price ( 2 for 25 ).

Uplyme then made light work in knocking of the total, only loosing Charlie Moss for a solid 22.  Steve Batey batted well, finishing on 58 not out, helped by brother Mark Batey with an unbeaten 26, finishing the game with a six .

Uplyme remain in the third promotion position, maintaining the 20 point gap over Topsham (who won against Bradninch),  but have now cut the deficit to 16 points over second placed Sidmouth 3rds after another heavy defeat at Countess Wear .

This coming Sunday Uplyme are at home to Upottery 2nd X1 2ho are bottom of the table with just one win from 14 games
