Uplyme in confident form for first Devon mini-league game

UPLYME & Lyme Regis  completed their friendly pre-season matches with a convincing win in a 20-over game against Chardstock at the King Gorge V playing field on Wednesday evening.

Chardstock won the toss and batted first, running up 120 runs for the loss of five wickets in their 20 overs.

Top scorers for the visitors were S. Allsop (43), T. Warren (34) and R. Pyman (27 not out).  Best bowler for Uplyme was Jacob Maltby, who finished with figures of 2-13.

In reply, Uplyme knocked off the required runs with the loss of just one wicket. New signings Alfie Jacques (53 not out) and Joe Elsworth (43 not out) were both in fine form, steering Uplyme to a comprehensive victory.

Uplyme go into their first mini-league game at home to Ottery St Mary 2nds on Saturday (starting at 1.30pm) full of confidence after some impressive performances in their warm-up games.
