Uplyme fail with the bat again

OVER the years there have been some titanic struggles between local rivals Uplyme & Lyme Regis CC and their neighbours across the Devon border, Chardstock.  This was not one of them as Uplyme struggled with the bat again.

Chardstock won the toss and put the visitors into bat. Uplyme opener Laurie Thomas put up a good show with a knock of 29, including two hours and two sixes, but the only others to shine with the bat were Bruce Maltby (27) and Steve Batey (31) as Uplyme were skittled out for 142 runs off 41.4 overs.

Top bowler for Chardstock was Gary Larcombe with figures of 4-24 off nine overs.

The home team knocked off the runs for their 20 points in 23 overs for the loss of five wickets with Tyler Wellman taking 3-44 off his allotted overs.

Uplyme & Lyme Regis 2nds X1 were without a fixture.
