Two birdies for Peter and Geoff

By Richard Jackman

THE non-qualifying April medal at Lyme Regis Golf Club, played on the 16-hole layout, produced an incredible and impressive result in Division 1 for Peter Spiers, as he scored two birdies on the third and fifth hole on his way to a sublime nett 50.

It was good to see Peter return in such good form although perhaps second placed John Yorke with his excellent nett 55 and Paul Dike’s almost as imressive nett 56, might not quite agree!

Division Two belonged to Ian McGown who won it with a well-earned nett 53, which included several good holes especially a nett 3 on the tricky stroke index 1 14th hole. Despite not starting so wel,l Geoff Filtness really got his game together with two superb gross birdies in his 54, while new member Robert Earney dealt well with the conditions to come in third with a nett 56.
