Top Seed loses to Love

LYME Regis Golf Club kicked off their week of celebratory golf with an open 125 medal competition which produced some spectacular results as many participants rose to the challenge.

In a packed field, scratch handicapper, Scott Love played the round of his life as he parred every hole on the course apart, that is, from the three birdies in each nine!

This wonderful display of golf, which included a birdie on stroke index 1, meant that Love went round in 65 which is new course record for the lowest gross round, eclipsing the 66 scored by Roger Seed in 2003. A truly memorable occasion.

In many ways Caroline Baker’s round was also incredible as she finished second on countback with a brilliant nett 65 in her sublime round that on many other days would have secured gold especially after eight nett pars on the front nine.

In finishing 3rd with 67, David Retallack’s tenacious front nine set him up with a very worthy podium finish.
