THE hardy A team at Lyme Regis Golf Club beat Queens Park by five games to three to win the division and gain promotion.
This end-of-season match saw a fantastic team effort but a special mention of Zac Mudford who was making his Hardy A debut and found himself four down with five to play and came back to halve his match which gave the team the vital winning half point.
The junior stableford was won by Brooklyn Wilkins on 40 points with Joe Shrubb taking second on 38 and Casey Gibbons third on 36.
The stableford saw Gerry Whiteley improve on the previous week as he took gold in Division 1 with 36 points, just pushing James Phillips into second on 35 with Geoffrey Moss third on 33.
With the best score of the day – 38 points – Mark Lewis had two steady nines to claim top spot in Division 2, two points ahead of Toby Eeles with Sean Whelan taking third on 35.
The Veterans’ Trophy was won by John Jones, nett 70, who had a blistering front nine which included a two on the third hole. John Stow and Charles Vane Percy both had 71 but on countback Stow took silver.
Preceding their annual general meeting, the ladies played their AGM greensomes and it augurs well that new vice-captains Debbie Shinners and Ronny Turner, worked exceptionally well together to romp home with brilliant score of 42 points while Sarah Kilcoyne and Judith Ellard came second on 38 with Di Smith and Julie Duke third on 34.
