Nine-man 2nds no match for Exmouth

UPLYME & Lyme Regis 2nds X1, fielding only nine men, were no match for Exmouth 3rd X1 at the King George V playing field on Saturday.

The visitors, just one mid-table place above Uplyme in the Devon Cricket League Division H East, won the toss and put the home team into bat.

Eight of the nine Uplyme batsmen were dismissed for 114 runs in 35 overs with youngster Jack Rattenbury top scoring on 28 and Alex Norman hitting 12. None of the other batsmen reached double figures.

Exmouth knocked off the required runs for victory in 17 overs, losing two wickets to Gabriel Maltby and Simon Rattenbury.

Uplyme 1st X1 had the long trip to North Devon but no scorecard available at the time of writing, or on the league website.
