Match-of-the-day: Lyme v Cronies

AFTER last week’s goal fest it will be interesting to see today’s outcomes from another full programme of Devon & Exeter League football (2.15pm kicks-offs).

Premier top scorers Newtown, who put 11 past Clyst Valley, host mid-table Witheridge but Town will be watching closely to see if new leaders Exwick Villa can get anywhere near their feat when they welcome Clyst.

Deposed leaders Colyton were not in action, but will turn out at Beer Albion for their first ever Premier clash at Furzebrake between the two neighbours.

However, match of the day could be at Lyme Regis where an inform Cronies are the guests.

Heavitree United welcome Upottery, Feniton desparate for a win have Okehampton Argyle as guests boosted by their 2-0 victory at home to Topsham Town. The tops dropped to bottom place following that defeat, and what a day for them as they face a massive basement clash with Seaton Town.

Match-of-the-day in Division One is at second placed Lapford where Chagford, the team challenging the hosts for that spot, are the guests. Bampton, who managed to check leaders Kentisbeare, with a 1-1 draw face bottom of the table Chard Town.

Division Two leaders Whipton & Pinhoe entertain Thorverton, who are hoping they can put an end to Whipton-s 36 match unbeaten run.

Third division leaders Ottery St Mary smashed 15 goals last week so Clyst Valley will know what to expect when the pair meet at Winslade Park. Big derby to watch out for here between East Budleigh and Otterton.

New Division Four leaders Elmore defend their 100 per cent record at home to Feniton, and could extend their lead as the Alphas have the day off. Lyme Regis Reserves are way to Sampford Peverill.

With Exmouth Spartans the current Fifth division leaders taking a break, Upottery and Cranbrook their two main rivals have a huge clash at Glebe Park.

Division Six leaders Kentisbeare defend their twelve point cushion at home to Offwell Rangers, but will be eager to find out the result at Cheriton Fitzpaine where Spreyton are the guests and neither side has yet tasted defeat.

Cowick Barton who are also unbeaten as Division Seven leaders, have an interesting clash against third place East Budleigh who could move into second place if they inflict Cowicks first ever defeat.

Dawlish United the Division Eight leaders host Bradninch Villa, while Elmore in fourth place try to make it 13 from 13 at home to Sandford.
