AFTER a gap of many years Lyme Regis footballers return to Sunday football with a first ever foray into the 60-year-old Grandisson Cup, writes Sid Hansford.
The Seasiders, currently lying second in the Devon & Exeter League Division One will be favourites when they travel to Rectory Park on February 25th to take on hosts Kentisbeare who currently sit in sixth spot in Division Two.
However, with many players and the first and reserve team managers unavailable for Sunday football, stand-in managers Mark Bailey and Rob Fellingham will be taking a mixed squad from across the three Lyme teams for the match on the outskirts of Cullompton.
The prize for the winners is a home quarter final against Sidmouth Town Reserves.
