Overhanging trees stop bus services between Lyme and Hunters Lodge

Concerns have been raised about overhanging branches on the B3165 through Uplyme (image from Google Maps)

FIRST bus services have stopped travelling between Lyme Regis and Hunters Lodge due to dangerous overhanging trees in Yawl.

The X51 and X53 service, which connect Lyme Regis with Axminster, will be diverted via Rousdon and Trinity Hill until further notice because of the overhanging branches of the B3165 Lyme Road, through Yawl, just outside Uplyme.

Devon County Council is attending the scene and carrying out works to make the road passable again, but is not currently known when this work will be completed.

Bus stops between Lyme Regis and Hunters Lodge will not be served for the duration of this road closure, and services may be delayed, revised or cancelled as a result of this disruption.

Uplyme Parish Council recently expressed concerns about the overhanging branches in Yawl, after one smashed the window of a double decker bus.
