Horticultural Society launches virtual Autumn Show

BUOYED by the success of its virtual summer show, Uplyme & Lyme Regis Horticultural Society is now launching an online autumn event. 

Entries for the Autumn Show are open to all and the society is inviting as many of its members as possible to send it at least one photograph for the event.

The virtual Autumn Show will consist of galleries of photographs to be displayed on the society’s website www.ulrhs.wordpress.com. There will be one gallery for each of eight broad classes:

  • Autumn flowers – displayed or growing
  • Autumn table decoration – floral or craft
  • Home grown fruit, displayed or growing
  • Home grown autumn vegetables, displayed or growing
  • Hedgerow harvest
  • Apple cake – whole cake and with a slice from the centre
  • Carved pumpkin
  • Photography – images of autumn.

The show classes will be for fun and there will be no judging. Two entries are allowed per class and entrants are encouraged to start compiling their photos now.

Entries need to be emailed as landscape images and must be submitted between Thursday, October 22 and Sunday, October 25 and the photo galleries will be live on the society website from Wednesday, October 28.
