UPLYME Village Fete will be held on Saturday, June 8 and organisers have planned a full programme of attractions both old and new.
For the children (and young at heart) there will be the ever-popular miniature steam train rides, as well as a bouncy castle, slide and roundabout. Punch and Judy will be entertaining as will Munchkins Miniature Shetland Ponies and Sharandys Birds of Prey.
There will also be a display of classic cars, along with lots of interesting stalls and table games.
The music tent returns this year with young musicians from In the Band and the Lyme Luggers ukulele group performing outside, while James will serenade you whilst you have a cream tea inside the village hall.
The Cocktail Lounge and cricket club bar will keep mums and dads refreshed and coffee will also be available from the new red Tukxi wagon. There will also be burgers from Wyldes Country Meats, as well as crepes and doughnuts.
The Axminster-based Karizma Majorettes will lead the opening procession around the King George V playing field and Lyme’s town crier Alan Vian will compere the afternoon’s entertainment.
A grand draw will take place at about 4pm with some great prizes including first prize of £150.
The fete will open from 2pm with entry costing £2. Dogs on leads welcome.
