BEREY Pealing for the Town Mill Pottery in Lyme Regis has designed a unique souvenir for this year’s royal wedding.

To mark the occasion of Prince Harry marrying Meghan Markle in May, Berey has created his own take on the traditional Swiss weather house.

Many may remember or even own one of the miniature Swiss cottages with ‘Him & Her’ figures which emerged or retreated in response to prevailing weather conditions.

The simple mechanisms consisted of a short length of catgut – a type of cord created from the natural fibre found inside animal intestines – which twisted slightly in response to changes in humidity, just enough to cause the figures to rotate hold a turn one way or the other.

In Berey’s version, figures representing Prince Harry and Meghan emerge from a symbolic Windsor Castle, with the inscription ‘Hari et Meg 2018’.

Orders are now being taken at the Town Mill Pottery for anyone who would like to purchase their own royal wedding souvenir.
