St Michael’s Children’s Choir perform at cathedral

ST Michael’s Children’s Choir recently teamed up with the Devon County Junior Choir (DCJC) for a concert in Exeter Cathedral.

The children relished the opportunity to sing again with DCJC after a successful collaboration in Lyme Regis in June for the premiere of Nicholas Brown’s musical ‘Go Goliath!’.

The children sang three songs including ‘Can You Feel the Love Tonight’ by Elton John, and a further two as part of a mass choir made up of DCJC, St Michael’s, Exeter Cathedral choristers and other schools from Devon.

Choir leader Alison Davies said: “The final song ‘No Wars will Stop us Singing’ with approximately 200 children singing beautifully I’m sure will leave a lasting memory with all in attendance.

“The children really enjoyed their afternoon and were made very welcome by all. It was one of those wonderful experiences that children will never forget and the links we have created with DCJC have provided the children with a wonderful opportunity to sing as part of a larger choir.”

St Michael’s Children’s Choir is now preparing for Christmas and will sing at St Michael’s Parish Church’s Carol Service on Sunday, December 22 at 4pm.

The children in the choir are aged between six and 15 and are drawn from five local schools. If you have a child who would like to join, contact Alex or Alison Davies at, call 01297 442596 find them on Facebook.

  1. Well done St. Michael’s Junior Choir, I am so proud of you! Singing with DCJC will have been such a good experience, and even better in Exeter Cathedral! Raise the roof this Christmas and God bless all your music making – I’m sure it makes Him smile!
