THE Rotary Club of Lyme Regis raised £900 for the charity Water Survival Box at its annual soup and ploughman’s lunch.

The event was held at the Alexandra Hotel, with guests including the Mayor of Lyme Regis, Councillor Michaela Ellis, and her consort Alan Ellis.

A member of the Rotary Club of Chelwood Bridge attended and gave a short talk about the branch’s own charity, Water Survival Box, which sends boxes including a water filtration system and essential items across the world to those affected by natural disasters and conflict.

President of the Lyme Regis branch, Les Baker, announced at the end of the lunch that the event had raised about £900 for the charity.

Lyme Regis Rotary Club would like to express their grateful thanks to the Alexandra Hotel who donated the food and staff time.
