Raymond’s Hill Ladies make charity donations

Kate Vernon of Axminster & Lyme Cancer Support collects a cheque from Raymond’s Hill Ladies Group members Bryony Lamb, Jasmine Bishop and chairman Sue Firth

THE Raymond’s Hill Ladies Group has presented cheques to two local charities from funds raised at the group’s events over the past year.

Donations of £375 each were made to Axminster & Lyme Cancer Support and the Friends of ARC, the mental health support charity that runs a shop in Axminster.

Raymond’s Hill Ladies Group is a thriving friendship group for ladies in this area of Axminster. They meet on the first Wednesday of each month at 2pm at Woodbury Community Hall for two hours, welcoming speakers on all kinds of subjects, as well as enjoying refreshments and a chat.

Meetings also include a raffle which has helped raise funds for many different charities over the years. The group also hosts events including an annual cream tea in June and a Christmas fayre to boost funds.

Members enjoy an annual lunch at a local hotel, where partners and guests are welcome, as well as a bring-and-share Christmas party.

Anybody interested in joining this friendly is welcome to come along to a meeting or email chairman Sue Firth on sue.firth16@yahoo.com or call 07464 930 311. Membership subscription is only £12 for the year.
