Public meeting on proposed police merger

DORSET Police and Crime Commissioner, Martyn Underhill, will hold a public meeting in Lyme Regis today (Friday, August 17) to discuss a proposed merger of police forces.

Mr Underhill will give a presentation on the proposals to merge Dorset Police with Devon & Cornwall Police, in a meeting at the Woodmead Halls from 10.30am to 12.30pm. His presentation will be followed by a question and answer session.

No final decisions have been made on the proposed merger and the public are encouraged to share their views via the Future Policing survey online at www.futurepolicing.co.uk/survey, which is open until Monday, August 27.

The meeting is a chance to find out more about the merger proposal, so you can make a more informed decision when completing the survey. It also offers an opportunity to question the Police and Crime Commissioner on local policing matters more generally.
