Park and ride expected to reopen on Wednesday after wet weather

THE park and ride facility is expected to reopen on Wednesday morning after a two-day closure caused by the recent wet weather.

The park and ride in Charmouth Rod has been closed this week due to ground conditions caused by the rain over the weekend.

The closure has put further strain on Lyme’s already under-pressure parking facilities, as huge crowds flocked to the beach today (Tuesday).

A statement from Lyme Regis Town Council, which operates the park and ride, said: “The Charmouth Road park and ride has been closed for three days due to ground conditions following wet weather at the weekend.

“The council rents the land from a private landowner, who has ultimate say on whether the site is open or not.

“Given the current dry weather, we are expecting the park and ride to re-open on Wednesday morning.”
