Over 70s tuck into annual Christmas lunch

SENIOR citizens of Lyme Regis enjoyed some festive fayre at the annual Over 70s Christmas Lunch.

The event was held at the Woodmead Halls last Saturday, with more than 60 guests attending.

They enjoyed a traditional lunch of vegetable soup, roast turkey and all the trimmings, followed by Christmas pudding.

The meal was prepared by local caterer Laurie Statham and her team, with donations kindly made by the local branch of Co-op.

After lunch, residents joined in some festive entertainment provided by the Croft Singers.

They Mayor of Lyme Regis, Councillor Brian Larcombe MBE, accompanied by mayoress Wendy Larcombe, wished all those attending a merry Christmas and handed out chocolates.

Guests also enjoyed a raffle and were each able to take home a Christmas present.
