LymeOnline has teamed up with Lyme Bay Radio to bring its local news coverage to an even wider audience.
Editor Francesca Evans will be presenting weekly news bulletins for the community radio station, which can be listened to online at www.lymebayradio.com
The bulletins – a round-up of the week’s top news stories and events – will go out every Friday at 5pm, during the station’s ‘Finally Friday’ show, with the first having been broadcast last week.
Francesca commented: “We’re really delighted to be working with Lyme Bay Radio to bring LymeOnline’s already extensive coverage of the Lyme Regis, Uplyme and Charmouth area to an even wider audience.
“We already distribute 4,000 free newspapers to the local area every fortnight and our website has been attracting record numbers in recent months, with almost 38,000 visitors in August.
“In January we launched our video news bulletins, which attract hundreds of hits on our website every Friday morning, and now you can catch up with the latest news on local radio too!”
Both LymeOnline and Lyme Bay Radio are run as not-for-profit community ventures, with the radio station – launched in February this year – being managed by Lyme Regis Development Trust and manned by volunteers.
Development Trust CEO Chris Tipping said: “I think this is a great example of two social enterprises working together for the benefit of the community, and I hope it is the start of many more collaborations to support and promote Lyme Regis and its amazing people.”
