Volunteers raise awareness of foodbank

Volunteer David Ruffle on the Lyme Regis Foodbank stall in Broad Street

VOLUNTEERS recently ran a stall in Broad Street to raises awareness of Lyme Regis Foodbank.

Foodbank volunteers braved the weather to spend the morning talking to passers-by about the work that the foodbank does in the town, and the need for donations of food, money and time.

The foodbank provides short-term emergency food to people who need it in and around Lyme Regis, Charmouth and Uplyme and has recently experienced a growth in demand for its services.

It opens on Wednesday mornings, from 10am to 12noon at The Hub in Church Street for those referred by local, professional organisations such as health services, schools and the Citizens Advice Bureau.

If you would like to donate food or money or would like to join our band of volunteers, please contact Heather Prior on heather@lymeforward.co.uk or call 01297 441224.
