Uplyme Morris get 2019 underway with New Year’s Day performance

UPLYME Morris kicked off 2019 with a performance on the packed seafront on New Year’s Day.

The morris side entertained enthusiastic crowds outside the Harbour Inn on Marine Parade, including the audience in some lively participation dances.

The event raised £78 to start this year’s funds for local charities, which will be distributed by Uplyme Morris at the end of the year.

The morris side is already looking forward to a busy 2019, with its next event being an Evening of Wassailing at The Hat Bar, Seaton, on Saturday, January 12 from 6.30pm.

This will be followed by a second wassailing event on Saturday, January 26 at The Jubilee Orchard in Hinton St George, Somerset, starting at 6pm.

Both events will raise funds for Lyme Regis charities and organisations.
