MEMBERS of Lyme Regis Football Club have been celebrating the festive season with a number of special events.
A Christmas edition of the Seasiders’ regular Sunday Lunch Club was held at the beginning of December, with almost 60 guests enjoying a traditional menu of roast turkey and all the trimmings, followed by Christmas pudding and mince pies.
The turkey was kindly donated by Complete Meats and the lunch was prepared by volunteers, raising £500 for club funds.
The lunch was followed by a free children’s party for members’ families, organised by committee members Shelley Larcombe and Nicky Levan.
Youngsters enjoyed party games, a buffet and a visit from Father Christmas.
Festive events at the Davey Fort culminated on Saturday night with the club’s annual Christmas auction.
More than 50 lots – many generously donated by local businesses – raised £1,600 for the club, with Simon Flux acting as auctioneer for the evening.
The club would like to thank all those who donated to the auction, and wish all of its supporters a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
