Plans for drive-in Christmas carol service

PLANS are underway for a drive-in Christmas carol service in Lyme Regis, which will allow residents to join in while remaining socially distanced.

Early plans for the event were announced at last week’s virtual town council meeting, where permission was granted for the carol service to go ahead at the Woodmead Halls car park.

The event is being organised by Golden Cap Team rector, the Reverend Chris Martin, and town crier Alan Vian, who is a prominent member of Lyme Regis Baptist Church.

It will allow families and social bubbles to take part in a traditional Christmas carol service, singing along from the comfort of their own car to ensure social distancing guidelines are adhered to.

The event is expected to be held on the Sunday before Christmas with full details to be announced soon.

  1. Can’t wait for all our shops to open again so that I can get on with my Christmas Shopping, we are so lucky to have so much choice of shops.
