STAFF and supporters at Co-op in Lyme Regis have pedalled their way from Land’s End to John O’Groats without even leaving the store – and they raised more than £1,000 for charity along the way.
The staff at Co-op challenged themselves to a charity cycle for their chosen national charity MIND, which supports those with mental health problems, having completed a marathon-length walk up and down Lyme Regis seafront last year.
This year they wanted to push themselves even further, and store manager Karl Josko chose the Land’s End to John O’ Groats route, a distance of 970km as the crow flies.
Over seven days they pedalled on cycling machines in store, and were even joined by some members of the community some members of our community, with special mention going to three local youngsters who took part – Joshua and Jacob Denning, who raised £300, and Millie Hutchings, who raised more than £100.
The total raised came to £1,053 for MIND.
