Museum to host art exhibition as it reopens doors

LYME Regis Museum will be reopening for the first time in six months on September 8, and one of its first events will be an art exhibition in the Rotunda Gallery.

The museum will be re-starting its series of solo art exhibitions organised by Lyme Bay Arts, starting with Allan Punton’s exhibition ‘Chroma’.

Allan, who has specialised in hand-cut coloured glass contemporary artwork for 20 years, will be showcasing 12 panels of abstract glass landscapes that celebrate colour and its ability to create in differing combinations different responses from the viewer, as pictured above and below.

The shape and size of the museum’s Rotunda will amplify the richness of colour interaction between the panels, and together the panels create a single abstract vista.

The museum will be open 10am to 4pm Wednesdays through Saturdays, and ‘Chroma’ will run until October 17.
