LymeForward hosts Christmas lunch

LYME Forward hosted its last community lunch of the year just before Christmas.

About 30 residents enjoyed a traditional two-course lunch at Lyme Regis Football Club, including roast turkey and all the trimmings, cooked by Steve Batey of Fossil Food Catering and served by volunteers. Crackers and serviettes were donated by Tesco.

Following the lunch, guests enjoyed musical entertainment by the Lyme Luggers ukulele group, and then the monthly Meet Remember session, also organised by LymeForward.

Alison Bowskill worked with those who attended Meet Remember to create Christmas table decorations.

The Christmas raffle was then drawn, with Shirley Williams winning a state of the art personal security alarm, donated by Portcullis Security, and her brother-in-law Stan Williams winning second prize – an aromatherapy massage donated by Aromantique.

The event also marked the retirement of Heather Prior from LymeForward, who has been instrumental in organising the community lunches and Meet Remember sessions. She thanked all those who had supported both events over the past year.

There will be no community lunch in January but the Meet Remember session will be held at the Penny Black Café, behind the post office, on Thursday, January 17 at 2.30pm.
