Co-op donates more than £3,700 for three local causes

SHOPPERS at the Co-op in Lyme Regis have raised more than £3,700 has been raised for three local causes.

Lyme Regis Sea School, the Woodroffe School PTFA and the 1st Lym Valley Scout Group have each received £1,243,28 – totalling £3,729.84 – from the Co-op Local Community Fund.

Store manager Karl Josko said: “This is a great amount and the staff here would like to say a massive thank you to its Members and the community for shopping with us and help to raise this amount.”

Unfortunately, due to COVID restrictions, there has been no public cheque presentation in store this year.

The money is raised by Co-op Members, with 1p from every £1 they spend on own-brand groceries going towards the fund.

Co-op has recently doubled this amount to 2p and this will benefit the new three local causes, which are Axminster and Lyme Cancer Support, Lyme Regis Pantomime Society and the Woodroffe School PTFA.
