Churches turn to online services amid coronavirus outbreak

The Reverend Chris Martin delivers his first online service via YouTube

CHURCH goers are turning to technology so they can still take part in service amid the coronavirus outbreak.

All church services in the area were suspended last week, and churches are now closing their doors for private prayer following more stringent restrictions imposed by the government last night (Monday).

But members of the clergy of the Golden Cap Team, which includes 12 churches in Lyme Regis, Charmouth and surrounding villages, have found a new way to deliver their services.

The new team rector, the Reverend Chris Martin, and other members of the clergy will be delivering video services via YouTube.

The first service was posted on Mothering Sunday and was an address from the Reverend John Eade – you can still watch at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s04SPHf8wh0

The second video is the Reverend Chris Martin delivering week three of his Lent Course at https://youtu.be/9JzutVeVjiU
