Carnival committee hands out £12,750

carnival duck logoFOLLOWING another successful year of fundraising events, Lyme Regis Regatta & Carnival Committee has donated £12,750 to local good causes.

Committee chairman Alex Heath said: “We are enormously grateful for the support we have received throughout the year with all our events.

“The committee, consisting of just 10 people, have worked exceedingly hard to enhance the holidays of the many people who come to Lyme Regis as a family-friendly resort as well as raising so much money for local good causes.

“Plans are in an advanced stage for this year’s events, starting with the Easter Bonnet Parade on Easter Sunday.”

Organisations to receive funding were as follows: B Sharp, Charmouth Brownies, Charmouth Scouts, Lyme Regis Christmas Lights Committee, Charity Santa Sleigh, Get Together Club, Hallett Court, Lyme Kids’ Club, LymeForward (foodbank), Little Rascals Play Group, Lyme Regis Majorettes, Marine Theatre, Lyme Regis Musical Theatre, Lyme Regis Pantomime Society, Power Boat Club (youth section), Lyme Regis lifeboat crew, Sailing Club (youth section), Lyme Regis Sea School Trust, Lym Valley Scouts, St Michael’s Pre-School, Taekwondo Club, The Hub, Lyme Regis Town Band (training band), Uplyme King George V Field (air ambulance night time landing site), Woodroffe School.
