Volunteers needed for Fossil Festival

ORGANISERS of this year’s Fossil Festival are looking for volunteers to help run the annual event.

The festival will be held from Friday, May 3 to Sunday, May 5 and will be organised by Lyme Regis Development Trust, which has already announced that the event will start with a spectacular lantern parade along the seafront.

Volunteers are needed for a variety of roles, from manning the Fossil Festival stall to giving out brochures, directing people to various venues, being ‘on-hand’ as a Fossil Festival contact in venues, collecting donations, helping at talks, putting up posters, setting out tables and chairs and more.

Fossil festival co-ordinators Helen Tweedale and Dot Wood said: “There’s so much going on this year and we need extra hands to make sure it all runs smoothly.

“Please contact us if you think you might be able to offer some help at any point over the festival. You would not need to commit to the whole weekend, or even a whole day, even an hour would be greatly appreciated.”

Anyone interested in volunteering should email admin@lrdt.co.uk or call 01297 445021, or for more information about the festival visit www.fossilfestival.co.uk
