WITH Lyme Regis’ traditional Easter Bonnet Parade unable to go ahead yesterday due to the coronavirus epidemic, organisers hosted a virtual version of the event instead.
A Easter Bonnet Parade has been held in the town every Easter Sunday since the 1990s, weather permitting, but due to social distancing measures could not go ahead yesterday.
Lyme Regis Regatta & Carnival Committee instead encouraged children and adults to make bonnets at home and send in a photo to create a virtual parade.
The entries were judged by Philip and Francesca Evans of LymeOnline, with Belle Hallett’s towering ‘NHS Heroes’ theme hat winning the overall prize.
