THREE people were arrested following a break-in at a barber shop in Lyme Regis last night (Tuesday).
Police were called to reports of a burglary at Sandyman Chop Shop on the corner of Silver Street and Hill Road at 11.17pm on Tuesday, January 29.
On attending the scene, an altercation occurred and three people were arrested – a 22-year-old man from Lyme Regis on suspicion of assaulting a constable on duty, burglary, theft from a shop and assault; a 24-year-old woman from Lyme Regis on suspicion of two counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker; and a 23-year-old man from Devon on suspicion of burglary and assault.
All three are now assisting police with their enquiries.
Attempts were also made to break into In Harmony beauty salon in Silver Street but no access to the premises was gained.
The previous evening – Monday, January 28 – a window was smashed at a residential property in Church Street, Lyme Regis.
Police were called to the scene at 5.45pm and conducted a search of the area. A 36-year-old man from Lyme Regis was arrested on suspicion on possession of an offensive weapon and criminal damage.
