THE Lyme Regis branch of the Royal British Legion is looking for a new secretary.
For the last few years the post has been filled by Chris James who is standing down to concentrate on his work as chairman of Uplyme Parish Council. Chris served as a Brigadier in the Army responsible for all armed service dentists.
The Lyme branch usually meets on a monthly basis in the Woodmead Halls but has been meeting by video conferencing during the COVID crisis.
The branch is looking for someone who is computer-savvy and capable of producing accurate minutes of meetings with some correspondence.
All applications should be emailed to the branch chairman, Major Ian Marshall, at LymeRegis.Chairman@rbl.community
Major Marshall said: “Applicants need not necessarily be a member of the Royal British Legion or someone who has served in the Armed Forces. “We have a happy, hard working committee with the occasional social or fundraising function.”
