PROFESSIONAL artist Maria Barbashina is applying the final touches to portraits of 25 members of the RNLI crew of Lyme Regis lifeboat – just in time for the town’s Lifeboat Week.
The portraits will be hanging in the boathouse at the lifeboat station on the Cobb.
Russian-born Maria has just one more portrait to complete before Lifeboat Week which starts this Saturday (July 24).
She said: “The crew were all very patient during each sitting which took around 90 minutes and I am delighted with the result.”
Since starting the portrait project, Maria, 38, has joined the lifeboat team herself as shore crew and has ambitions to progress to a sea-going member of the volunteer crew.
