LymeOnline was nominated alongside some of the leading players of the media industry at the national newsawards 2021.

A party from the family-run LymeOnline website and newspaper, including editor Francesca Evans, managing director Philip Evans MBE and production manager Jackie Evans, attended the glamorous awards ceremony at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London earlier this month.

LymeOnline had been nominated for the second consecutive year in the Independent Community Website of the Year category, and Francesca had been shortlisted for Print Production Achiever of the Year.

Although they did not win either category, LymeOnline was said to be among the front-runners in the Community Website of the Year category, with judges praising its “commitment to improvement and digital innovation”, adding: “This is a lovely story of a family working closely together.”

Francesca was one of just two women out of the eight candidates for Print Production Achiever of the Year, and was the only nominee representing a small business rather than a national printing company.

She was called on stage with other nominees and ceremony host, TV presenter Mark Durden-Smith, for the results of this prestigious award and her efforts in building the LymeOnline website and editing the free, fortnightly newspaper were described by judges as “a fantastic achievement”.
