LYME Regis Town Council will return to virtual meetings this month, amid heightened concerns over the coronavirus pandemic.
It was agreed before the Christmas break that all council committees will temporarily change their status to ‘working groups’, allowing them to return to a virtual format using video conferencing app Zoom under current government legislation.
Full council meetings where decisions have to be rubber stamped will still be held in person, but in Lyme Regis Baptist Church Hall, which offers more space than the Guildhall.
The public will be able to take part in virtual meetings and attend the full council meetings in person, but are asked to follow COVID guidelines.
These arrangements will be reviewed at the full council meeting in February.
Town council office staff are continuing to work from home in line with government guidance.
