LYME Regis Town Council has been forced to cancel this week’s Planning Committee meeting, as Dorset Council’s online planning system is currently unavailable.
The online system, which allows the public to search for and comment on applications, is currently down while Dorset Council continues its planning convergence project – transferring applications from all former district councils across Dorset into one single system.
The council is currently in the fifth phase of six to move all former district, borough, and county planning systems into one and will have moved 4.3 million documents when this is complete.
The planning website went down on October 1 and is not expected to be working again until Wednesday, October 6.
This means Lyme Regis Town Council is unable to access documents needed for its own Planning Committee meeting scheduled to take place on Tuesday, October 5 and tis has now been cancelled.
