IN line with government guidance, Lyme Regis Library remains closed for browsing and computer use until further notice.
But thankfully, library staff members Lorraine and Jo are still able to work in the building and offer their customers access to books through the order and collect service.
Customers using this have said it is such a valuable service and they are so pleased to be able to continue to borrow books and keep reading. Customers can also order other items such as talking books and DVDs through this service.
To use the service you can either fill in a form via the Dorset Council website at www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/libraries-history-culture/libraries/library-services-during-covid-19/ or call 01305 228400.
For those customers who prefer to order their own books and search the full catalogue through the LibrariesWest website, this service is also continuing.
Items are ordered in the normal way, then the library will contact you to arrange a convenient collection time. There is a link to this at the above website.
All pre-arranged collection slots are contactless, and the staff are following strict COVID-secure working arrangements, including stringent quarantine procedures.
There are also lots of online offers available including:
- Access to e-books and audio books
- Access to e-magazines and e-comics
- Access to local and national newspapers
- An online programme of events and activities
These are all available via the website address above – all you need is your library card.
If you aren’t a member of Lyme Regis Library you can also join online to gain access to all the great activities and offers available.
If you would like help with the above or would like to check your account and renew books call Lyme Regis Library on 01297 443151 on Monday, Tuesday or Saturday mornings, or Wednesday and Friday afternoons.
