LYME Regis fire crew were called out on Monday night after a car was submerged in the town’s harbour.

The car was found some way into the harbour, partially submerged as the tide came in, with a female passenger still inside.

It is understood they had been trying to retrieve their boat from the harbour.

The fire crew assured the woman got out of the car safely and waited for the vehicle to be recovered.

The incident followed a busy day at the harbour, with film crews and crowds descending on the area for the filming of the new ‘Wonka’ movie, with stars including Timothée Chalamet and Matt Lucas spotted in town.
