UPLYME Morris raised £260 for local charities at their second annual Lyme Regis Day of Morris Dancing.
Joining Uplyme Morris on Saturday, June 1 were The Belles of London, Sidmouth Steppers and the Pigsty dance group from Bristol, who held performances on Marine Parade all day.
Penny farthing riders Alistair and Sebastian Cope from Velo Vintage – promoting their 15th annual cycle ride to be held in Seaton on Saturday, June 22 – also entertained the crowds, along with Xplosion Youth Club from Uplyme Church who showed off some moves they had learnt from Uplyme Morris.
Musicians from all the morris sides came together to form the Morris Dance Band, with more musical entertainment from Lyme Regis singing duo Eclipse and local shanty singing group The Chantry Buoys.
The event, sponsored by SWIM and Lyme Regis Brewery, was topped off with a mass dance with members of all visiting sides taking part.
Pete Morton from Uplyme Morris commented: “A great day was had by all and we look forward to another amazing day next year.”
