BRIDGE Street and a section of Church Street in Lyme Regis are expected to be closed during March to allow work to be carried out on the historic Guildhall.
Lyme Regis Town Council is planning to reduce the projection of the overhanging window of the Grade II listed Guildhall, which is regularly damaged by passing heavy good vehicles and buses.
The planning application is currently being considered by Dorset Council and, if approved, work is expected to be carried out in March.
The town council has now applied for a road closure of Bridge Street, at its junction with Coombe Street, to Church Street, with its junction of Monmouth Street.
The closure will be in place from March 1 to March 28.
