Lyme Regis businesses announce plans for reopening

open signLYME Regis businesses are looking forward to reopening this spring and summer, having been locked down for the majority of the past 12 months.

The government’s ‘roadmap’ out of lockdown aims for non-essential retail, hairdressers and gyms to open from April 12, as well as allowing pubs and restaurants to serve customers outside only.

Indoor hospitality is expected to open on May 17 before all legal limits on social contact are removed on June 21.

Here’s what some Lyme Regis businesses are planning over the coming weeks:

FOOD AND DRINK

  • Harbour Inn, Marine Parade – Takeaway barbecue from April 1, beach area seating open from April 12, opening indoors from May 17.
  • Royal Standard, Marine Parade – Takeaway service reopening for Easter holidays (food and soft drinks only, no alcohol), takeaway including alcohol and beer garden seating open from April 12, opening indoors from May 17 and continuing takeaway service through summer.
  • Herbies Kiosk, Marine Parade – Now open for takeaway everyday throughout spring/summer (weather permitting).
  • SWIM, Marine Parade – Outdoor seating open from April 12 and opening indoors from May 17.
  • Largigi Cafe & Thai Restaurant, Marine Parade – Cafe’s outside seating for alcoholic drinks and food open from April 12, full reopening from May 17.
  • Tom’s, Marine Parade – Currently offering takeaway menu, terrace seating open from April 12 and opening indoors from May 17.
  • The Millside, Mill Lane – Currently offering weekend takeaway menu, terrace opening for lunch and dinner from April 13 and opening indoors from May 17.
  • Holmbush Cafe, Holmbush car park – Takeaway service and outdoor seating from April 12 and opening indoors from May 17.
  • Robin Wylde, Silver Street – Full opening from May 19.
  • The Oyster & Fish House, Cobb Road – Outdoor seating open from April 12 and opening indoors from May 17.
  • Rock Point Inn, Broad Street – Opening from May 17.
  • The Bell Cliff Restaurant, Broad Street – Outdoor seating open from April 12 and opening indoors from May 17.
  • The Pilot Boat, Bridge Street – Outdoor seating opening from April 12 from 1am to 8pm for breakfasts and pizza menu, and opening indoors with full menu from May 17.
  • The Lyme Bay Café Bar, Bridge Street – Outdoor seating opening from April 12 and opening indoors from May 17.
  • Antonio’s Trattoria, Church Street – Full reopening from May 20.
  • Italia, Monmouth Street – Reopening for takeaway and delivery from April 2, from 12noon to 9pm daily.

ACCOMODATION

  • Royal Lion Hotel, Broad Street – Opening from May 17.
  • Largigi Rooms, Coombe Street – Opening from May 17.
  • The Alexandra Hotel & Restaurant, Pound Street – Self-contained apartments opening from April 12, hotel and restaurant open from May 17.
  • Monmouth House, Monmouth Street – Self-contained apartments opening from April 12.

SPORT & FITNESS

  • Lyme Regis Taekwondo Club – Outdoor classes from March 29, indoor from April 12.
  • B! Health & Fitness, Uplyme Road – Opening from April 12.

BEAUTY & SELF CARE

  • Lisa Galvani Makeup and Beauty, Silver Street – Opening from April 12.
