A VIRTUAL meeting of management volunteers who run the lifeboat station in Lyme Regis came to an abrupt end last night when their pagers sounded and the crew launched to answer an emergency shout.

Police asked for help in dealing with “a man behaving erratically” on the beach at Burton Bradstock.

The lifeboat crew were stood down after police dealt with the incident.

The meeting of the lifeboat operations team, held over video conferencing app Zoom, was half way through its allotted 40 minutes when the crew were called out.
