THE latest figures released by police show there were 38 reported crimes in the Lyme Regis area during July 2021.
These figures compare to 48 crimes the previous month and 45 during the same month last year.
From the 38 recorded incidents in July 2021, 21 took place in Lyme Regis itself, with 10 in Charmouth, six in Uplyme, and one in Wootton Fitzpaine.
In Lyme Regis, crimes included 11 incidents of violence and sexual offences, five of anti-social behaviour, three thefts, and two listed as ‘other crimes’.
In Charmouth, reported crimes included three incidents of anti-social behaviour, two of violence and sexual offences, one of criminal damage and arson, one public order offence, one theft and two incidents listed as ‘other crimes’.
In Wootton Fitzpaine, there was once vehicle related crime.
Across the Devon border in neighbouring Uplyme and Raymonds Hill, there were two thefts, one incident of criminal damage and arson, one of violence and sexual offences, one of anti-social behaviour, and one burglary.
Crime figures for August 2021 have not yet been released.
