Increasing number of Lyme Regis residents turning to foodbank

food parcelLYME Regis Foodbank continues to support an increasing number of people each month, with many facing financial difficulties due to the current coronavirus pandemic.

With some losing their jobs, LymeForward, which runs the foodbank, expects the coming months will prove a challenging time for some residents, but has thanked the local community for its continued support.

A spokesperson said: “We have to say a big thank you to everyone who has made donations to the cause and are grateful for all that has been given to us.

“We hope it can continue, as we still need a regular supply of all of the basics.”

The foodbank is currently in particular need of the following items:

  • Nappies size 6
  • Tinned spaghetti
  • Tinned cold meat
  • Custard
  • Jam
  • Shiphams pastes
  • Savoury biscuits
  • Shampoo
  • Conditioner
  • Washing tablets

Donations can be made at The Hub in Church Street on Wednesday mornings from 10am to 12noon.
