UPLYME & Lyme Regis Horticultural Society will host a free exhibition at the Town Mill’s Courtyard Gallery to celebrate its 90th anniversary.
The exhibition will be open from Thursday, November 14 to Tuesday, November 19 and will showcase the wide range of activities that the society is involved, featuring photographic displays, a ‘selfie scarecrow’ and some of the displays from recent horticultural shows.
A key feature of the exhibition will be the launch of the 2020-21 trips and talks programme. Talks from well-known gardening celebrities and writers, together with plant and wildlife experts, are included in the new programme.
Trips are equally diverse, ranging from a film showing at the Marine Theatre in January, through outings to renowned gardens across the south west, to trips to RHS gardens and flower shows.
In addition, there are social events for members and details of the society’s popular spring plant sale, summer flower and produce show, and autumn show.
On Saturday, November 16, the society’s president Pam Corbin will be signing copies of her latest book, ‘Pam The Jam: The Book of Preserves’, between 12noon and 1.30pm at the exhibition.
The exhibition will be open daily from 11am to 3.30pm (2pm on final day). Horticultural society volunteers will be on hand each day to answer questions and visitors will be able to sign up for membership and for the 2020 trips.
