Harbour benches targeted by vandals

MEMORIAL benches around the historic Cobb wall in Lyme Regis have been vandalised with paint.

The wooden benches, which were donated to the harbour in memory of loved ones, were vandalised with coloured paint sometime overnight on Thursday (March 7) and found by harbour staff this morning.

Harbourmaster Grahame Forshaw said: “I would like to express by utter disappointment at these acts of vandalism, especially against property which have been donated to the harbour in memory of a loved one.

“We will of course do our best to remove the paint and restore the bench to the previous condition but this may not be possible.”
