LYME Regis couple Esme Hopkins and Duncan Weaver finally tied the knot after setting five wedding dates over the past year.
They were one of the first couples in the UK to make the most of the relaxation of lockdown rules on Monday, which allowed two households to come together for the first time in months.
Esme and Duncan married at Dorchester Registry Office with just their mothers allowed inside as witnesses and their four children having to watch through the window.
But the whole family was able to celebrate together afterwards on Lyme Regis beach and were blessed with perfect weather.
The couple arrived in Duncan’s Sunbeam Tiger car and then enjoyed Champagne and a picnic on Cobb Gate beach, where Esme’s son Hughie gave a best man’s speech with wet feet having just taken a paddle!
The newlyweds said the beach was the perfect location for their much-anticipated wedding reception, adding: “When you have this backdrop, you don’t need a stately home to get married in!”
