Emergency services called to unconscious girl on Charmouth beach

COASTGUARDS and the ambulance service were called to reports of a child unconscious on the water’s edge in Charmouth this week. 

The incident took place just before 3pm on Wednesday, August 25 with coastguards from Lyme Regis and West Bay, and the South Western Ambulance Service, called to the scene at east beach in Charmouth.

A 12-year-old girl was found unconscious at the water’s edge. Initial casualty care was provided by the coastguards until the ambulance arrived shortly afterwards.

Once the casualty had regained consciousness, she was stretchered back to the waiting ambulance for a full assessment by paramedics.
